This New Moon brings a surge of creativity, confidence and, yes even a little cosmic sexiness.
This double dose of Leo makes it an excellent time to embody more “Leo” energy- bold, playful, creative, confident, caring, warm, active, generous- while setting intentions to manifest more “Leo” things in our life.
Leo energy is ruled by the heart and spine. This New Moon wants you to dive deeper into what your heart needs from you right now. Think: tapping into your inner child’s joy, having more self-compassion, living with more presence, feeling more open to life or finding what lights your soul up.
The Heart Math institute is a research organization dedicated to unlocking the power and intelligence of our hearts. Their studies have shown that when our energy is “coherent “it dramatically strengthens our heart field. And our heart field is 100 times stronger than our brain. And how do we create more coherence in our heart? Through more joy, compassion, presence, openness and passion.
Leo energy is also about courage. This is where the “spine” part comes in by asking you to stand tall in that truth. Leo energy is fixed fire- it is solid in that heart energy. It is hero energy- never victim energy.
Leo energy is essential about embodying your inner love warrior and lioness spirit. Don’t be afraid to roar.
How will this affect us?
This year (of course) there is a plot twist. The annual New Moon is opposite wild and unpredictable AF Uranus. We can expect shocking news or something chaotic to occur. Uranus is the planet of surprises and expecting the unexpected. We are in for an intense few months as we close out 2021 and we are being forced to see things in a new way. Uranus is here to shake us up to wake us up.
This very active Uranus can make you feel scattered, anxious or uncertain about something that you were once very certain about. Remember: uncertainty isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it’s a necessary part of life and a great teacher. This shaking of our reality can help us see things in a new light, understand new perspectives in life and evolve. Uncertainty can open us up to our full potential- but the key is to stay present and learn how to release our attachment to control. How can you see the storm of uncomfortable uncertainty around you as an infinite sea of possibilities.
Saturn is also across from this New Moon reminding us the importance of rules, restrictions and responsibilities. There is a breaking down to break through moment happening. We are being asked to make room to fully build the new. Education systems, legal systems, medical systems, financial systems- are all up for discussion and reformation through 2024.
We have to break down the old systems to build anew now and this New Moon in Leo is asking us to each find ways to use our hearts as a guide first.
This New Moon is extra auspicious (aka astro nerds are freaking out) because it also lines up with Lions Gate. Lions Gate happens every 8/8.
Every year on and around the 8th day of the 8th month of the year, there is a cosmic alignment called “the Lions Gateway”. The Lions Gate has ties to ancient Egypt and for thousands of years has been observed and honored as a time of a great energetic influx and activation. This gateway is marked by an alignment between the Earth and the star Sirius. As Sirius rises in the sky, Orion's Belt directly aligns with the Pyramid of Giza, and from our perspective on Earth, it appears that Sirius (the brightest star we can see) comes closer to the Earth. August 8th marks a huge astrological event. The Lions Gate is a time of increased cosmic energy flowing between the physical and spiritual realms.
Sirius is a fixed star that we can see with our naked eye because it’s the brightest one. Sirius is twice the size of our Sun and 26x brighter! Named “the Spiritual Sun”, it has been revered as a source of spiritual light on the planes bringing nourishment, abundance and fertility. Yum!
It is said that the days leading up to and after 8/8 bring an astronomical and esoteric portal for deep heart healing and transformation into higher levels of consciousness. In numerology 88 represents infinity in all things: abundance, spiritual wisdom and divine love.
What is our Cosmic Rx?
This is a magical day to manifest by getting in touch with your “Higher Self”: think about what you wish to create in your life (tap into heart) and then declare it as yours through ritual, meditation or visualization (standing tall in that truth.) Stepping into the embodiment of your Higher Self is the ultimate intention-setting practice. One powerful way to do that is by practicing being present, open to whatever wants to flow your way and trusting that life is unfolding for your highest good.
The New Moon in Leo is a great time to set more intentions around creative self expression. Is there any area of your life that could use a bit of bold and brilliant main character energy? Don’t forget part of self- love is actually honoring yourself and saying you are worthy of being SEEN.
The Leo energy that we're all experiencing at this time (regardless of your personal zodiac sign) is also associated with royalty, and so this alignment can be seen as awakening the royal codes of higher living which are available for all. Sounds pretty juicy, right?
